I am a current PhD student at Simon Fraser University doing concussion research under the supervision of Dr. Brianne Kent. My research focuses on the effects of repetitive mild traumatic brain injuries in Alzheimer’s model mice. Our lab uses the Close Head Impact Model of Engineering Rotational Acceleration (CHIMERA) to deliver mild TBIs to mice. We measure electroencephalographic (EEG) activity using cortical electrodes to quantify sleep and epileptiform activity at different time points after injury. We are currently writing the first manuscript from the data that we have collected.
