Mariya Kika
Founder & Speech Language Pathologist
Mariya Kika is a Toronto-based speech-language pathologist who provides virtual speech therapy across Ontario, specializing in Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and neurorehabilitation after stroke or brain injury.
Mariya completed her Master of Health Science in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Toronto, building on her background in neurolinguistics and cognitive science. She understands that speech is one cog in the whole of the brain and provides a holistic approach to speech therapy.
Through her clinical experience and ongoing research, she has found that the effects of concussion on speech and cognitive communication are often under-recognized and both patients and clinicians can benefit from better understanding the role of speech language pathology in post-concussion care.
