Keven Lapointe

Masters student

I am a graduate student in Biomedical Sciences at Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR), working in the Chemosensory Neuroanatomy Research Laboratory (Laboratoire de recherche en neuroanatomie chimiosensorielle) under the supervision of Dr. Johannes Frasnelli. My research focuses on mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI), with particular emphasis on the sensory and neurobiological mechanisms underlying post-traumatic olfactory dysfunction and its relationship to affective and cognitive outcomes.

My work integrates multimodal approaches, including intranasal electrophysiology, behavioral olfactory testing, and  neuroimaging, to better characterize recovery trajectories following mTBI. I am particularly interested in how olfactory function may serve as an accessible marker of limbic system integrity and a predictor of clinical outcomes such as anxiety, depression, and cognitive decline.
