Concussion Research Rounds: How and Why Did Concussion Awareness Evolve?
Details
Presenter: Dr. Charles H. Tator
Abstract: When I played hockey for my high school and university teams, and even at medical school, I never heard the word concussion. Now, in Canada and many other countries, there is major awareness about concussion. However, to counteract the continuing great toll of this condition, even here, it is important to close current gaps in awareness to ensure that the world is as concussion-free as possible. This presentation will chronicle the seminal events in this journey and indicate further steps for consideration.
