Katelyn Mitchell
Postdoctoral Fellow, Physiotherapist & Athletic Therapist
Katie Mitchell is a postdoctoral clinician-scientist in the Centre for Sport-Related Concussion, Innovation, and Knowledge within the Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education at the University of Toronto. She completed her PhD in Kinesiology at Wilfrid Laurier University. Her research is focused on examining concussion and injury management strategies for athletes across the lifespan, involving sensorimotor control, exercise, and cognition, as well as accessible digital health technologies.
Katie is a Registered Physiotherapist and Certified Athletic Therapist, providing clinical education and consulting for concussion and sports injury management. She is a member of the Concussion in Para Sport (CIPS) group and previously the Education and Research Committee for the Canadian Athletic Therapy Association. Katie has over a decade of experience as medical staff in high performance sport and major games, including the 2015 Parapan Am Games, and is currently the Lead Team Therapist for the Canadian Women’s National Para Ice Hockey team.
