Gabe Bourgeau

Masters of Science Candidate

Gabe Bourgeau is a first-year MSc. candidate at the University of Toronto, studying under the supervision of Dr. Lynda Mainwaring as part of the Faculty of Kinesiology’s Concussion Research Group (CRG). With an interest in exercise physiology and sport performance from his CEP and CSCS background, Gabe is interested in investigating post-exercise heart rate recovery (HRR) for athletes recovering from mTBIs as an indicator of autonomic function. Beyond his thesis work, Gabe is involved with Rugby Canada’s Blue Card Committee alongside fellow RG member Mike Jorgensen (MSc.) to enhance in-competition player protection in the sport. He also serves as a part-time strength & conditioning coach at the University of Toronto, working closely with the varsity men’s hockey team as well as his various personal training clients.
