I have a long, nuanced history and knowledge base with concussions, both from a personal and clinical (former Fire Captain/Paramedic) standpoint. I was a high-level athlete for many years and sustained multiple concussions throughout my athletic career as a result of the countless head impacts I received. Due to the cumulative effects, I was forced to retire at the age of 25.
I’m currently the Business Development Manager – North America for a company called Prevent Biometrics. We are a leader in the Instrumented Mouthguard (IMG) industry and specialize in head impact monitoring within contact sports and the military. Our IMG evaluates six key metrics, measures/records these head impacts in real-time, and then generates objective data that is a game changer for athletes/soldiers, coaches, administrators, and researchers.
Our goal at Prevent Biometrics is to increase the health and safety of athletes and soldiers through objective, science based data. We can identify individuals who meet, or exceed built in impact thresholds which will allow them to be assessed without delay, receive the necessary treatment, and expedite recovery time for return to play or active duty.
