Program outcomes
Examples of outcomes trainees may pursue through the program include:
- Accessing technology or equipment that your home institution is considering acquiring
- Advancing a new or ongoing research collaboration/partnership
- Expanding research skills and knowledge at your home institute (e.g., to train others)
- Increasing your competitiveness for future career opportunities
- Increasing your expertise with technology or equipment that is available at your home institution
- Learning a critical skill related to your thesis research
Available funding
The maximum potential funding available per applicant depends on the length of the training visit:
- A visit of 1-to-2 weeks is eligible for up to $2,500 in funding
- A visit of 2 weeks or more is eligible for up to $3,500 in funding
Funds may be used for travel, accommodations, meals and lab expenses.
Eligibility
- Application to the program is open to trainees and host supervisors who are members of the CCN-RCC (join here at no cost)
- The trainee must be currently residing in Canada
- It must be clear in the application that the research training being pursued at the visit (host) institution is not available at the trainee’s home institution
- Visits should be completed in 2026
